Sylvia Ericson passed away peacefully on June 7, 2026, in Ojai, California, having been accompanied during her passing by her sister and nieces. She was born on August 8, 1934, in Connecticut, where she grew up one of seven children of Eric and Doris Ericson.
She worked as a museum curator, teaching English as a second language and as a nutritionist.
Sylvia loved to explore the world, spending time studying in France, England and Italy, exploring archaeological digs in Egypt, and living in a commune in Israel. She is missed by her many friends in Ojai, Seattle and around the world.
She was kind and smart and loved to laugh. She had a playful spirit and enjoyed her grand nieces Jamie, Marina and Clementina, and grand nephews Lucas and Cody. She loved to sing and dance and thoroughly enjoyed art, including collecting, painting and crafts.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Arne, Jimmy, Eskil, Ingrid and Gunnar.
She is survived by her sister Virginia, three nieces, Tania, Angela and Jenny, and two nephews Tom and Michael.
The family would like to thank the Gables of Ojai for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Her family happily carries her in their hearts.
